And not just any kind of tourism, it is about responsible, ‎sustainable and universally accessible tourism with an eye leaning towards the ‎interests of developing countries.‎ Sure, why not. Anyway, the World Tourism Organization functions as some sort of a guide to such tourism - they have this Global Code of Ethics for Tourism which they claim will ensure that these tourist destinations maximize the positive economic, ‎social and cultural effects of tourism and they themselves will benefit from tourism while hopefully "minimizing its ‎negative social and environmental impacts".‎ Yes, tough job indeed. No matter how you put it, tourism will effect the environment, mostly in a bad way. But with some support, I think a balance can be achieved. They have 154 countries as members.
