They want users to be able to find new music, watch videos and listen to old ones all on one application. Think of it as iTunes but only less restrictive and more portable. On mobile devices, you can manage your music, watch videos, get song information, purchase new songs and even get tickets to your favourite band's concert. Since SongBird was designed with portability in mind, most mobile devices are supported. It is just too bad that everyone has iTunes already installed because of that silly little device called iPhone. But nevertheless, I am sure that this app will gain more headway in the future.
