It allows inventors to come up with ideas and products and submit them to Quirky, let the Quirky community critic and evaulate the idea/product and if it becomes successful, the product is put up for sale (after the final process). Think of it as something to help inventors produce the best product with the help of the community. And the promise of Quirky is that they have a massive following on the Internet, even internationally. Actually I think the idea is great, and inventors do not need to risk a lot.
