Yet another supermaket chain. It is like everywhere you go, you will always be greeted not by friendly stores but by supermarkets chains with their asles and asles of household items. They have become such a integral part of our life that if we don't see any supermarkets nearby, we feel that we are in a foreign country. And Publix supermarkets are the same mold. Like most other supermarket chains, they claim to offer great value because of their distribution, volume due to economies of scale and sheer size. Although they are not as big as some other brands, they are still up there. Their rather cute slogan is "Where shopping is a pleasure". They have over 1000 stores located throughout the country. And now almost all their supermarkets include a pharmacy since we are all very sickly. So while shopping for grocery (where shopping is supposed to be a pleasure by the way), you can buy some sleeping pills for your insomnia. As with most supermarkets, they sell groceries, household items, frozen foods, appliances and so on. Most of their supermarkets have an organic section for the groupies. By the way, Publix is an employee owned corporation.
