Short for British Petroleum, they are now simply called BP. And as the name suggest, they are an international oil and gas company with interests throughout the world. If you have oil in your land, they will be there to help you drill for it. If not, they will find ways and means to get you to sell them your land. I mean, oil and gas companies are not known to be ethnical companies right? Anyway, they are active in almost every aspects of energy production - like exploration, recovery, drilling, delivery and transportation, marketing, refining and trading. You cannot escape the influence of BP, even though they are not the largest. They often claim that they have a good track record of environmental safety but recent history has shown that is not the case. Their logo is some sort of a greenish yellowish sun, which looks kind of weird for a petroleum company. Next time you want to fill up your tank for your car, remember BP and their logo.
