More or less some sort of retail assoication for farmers and those related to this industry. But I am guessing this is more for those bigger companies like those major supermarket distributors or grocery chains than for farmers. The farmers themselves don't usually have that much of a monopoly to setup such an association. Even if they do, such association will not last that long, if you catch my drift. Anyway, what they do is try to help their members understand the ever changing industry and how to adapt to it. They also attempt to influence government policy through legistration and so on. Furthermore they provide monthly newsletter and other publication to disperse information to their members. And for those members who really need direct assistance, they can provide advise and help directly as well. If you are looking to network, they hold annual conferences so that you can meet people from the same industry as well as looks at new technology, programs and listen to industry leaders talk.
