PreFound.com PreFound.com allows human users to (a) see what other humans have gathered by-hand from all places on the web, and have shared with the PreFound.com community and (b) gives these human users a technology which allows them to easily and efficiently gather and tag this information, then share it with the PreFound.com community if desired. After all, communities of knowledgeable, interested people can identify relevant sites with greater accuracy than a search engine, even ones with a complicated search algorithms like Google. Plus, you can leverage the work already done by others and build on that base rather than repeat it. In this way, we provide a platform that allows users to search what has already been found on the web! Pre-Found! -

My new company, Eons, is all about celebrating life that begins at 50. I want to invite you to start thinking about the unprecedented opportunity to travel and explore, to re-invent our careers, to nurture relationships, to give back to the community … to live life to the fullest. This creates the longest, most unstructured and dare I say most exciting time of our lives. - |

SkyRock We all love all these social networking sites, don't we? And SkyRock is yet another one of the now increasing number of such sites available on the Internet. And not surprisingly, they do get quite a number of visitors - 21 million visitors in 2008! Just like most networking sites, SkyRock offers their users a "space" for them to put up their page where they can add photos, blogs, notes, music and so on. And the site is pretty popular in France, Belgium and Switzerland. At least they realize the importance of having a niche in such a crowded neighbourhood.

Klout You remember a while back when nothing on the Internet is serious? Well, now everything is serious business on the Internet. I kid you not. Even social networking which was once a place for people just to get together and chat and find out new things have also become very serious indeed. In fact, it has become a battleground for ideas, influence and.....dare I say, even power? Klout is prove of that. It is a site which helps measure someone's influence across a network. So what you need to do is to just login to their website and you will be presented with a report on your "performance" on the social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. They supposedly measures someone's influence through the number of friends, content generated and feedback from others. Yes, as I said, Internet is serious business. Don't you be messing around with others or they might make use of their influence to get back at you. What is its purpose then? Not too sure but I guess this helps advertisers see whom to contact if they need someone to influence their customers or something.

Badoo One of the biggest restrictions when it comes to meeting people on the Internet is the problem of communication. And not to mention a lot of websites only cater to a few languages at the most. There are probably billions of interesting and unique people out there, with different culture, beliefs and ideas whom you cannot talk to because that social networking site doesn't support the language. If that is the case, you should try Badoo. It is just like Facebook where you create profiles, chat with others, find people with the same interests, look for anyone in the same location and so on. It even comes with a Facebook app. What is suprising is that it is very popular in certain countries like Spain, France and Russia, while not that popular in others. As to why, well I have no idea. Probably it depends on where it is being marketed. So yes, marketing is very important in social networking. Without proper marketing, you cannot sell a product, no matter how good it is.

Capzles It is your life story. Cazles is something of an oddball in the social media - instead of showing off your photos and some little sniplets of your life, it wants you to tell your lifestory. Yes, it encourages photos, music and videos to be integrated into a slideshow, the main thing is that it emphasis on the story telling part. And it is kind of interesting to browse through the different profiles and reading the stories which people have created. Certainly the content here are not boring or stupid like most other social media sites. And I really like their interface - everything seems to go well with each other and the result is different pretty impressive for a patchwork of photos and video.
