The one that started it all - Hotmail. Although most people won't recognize the name anymore, this is the webmail that started it all - it offers Internet users a fee webmail account! When I first went online, the thing I did was to sign up for an hotmail account. It was the in-thing to do back then. What you get is an unique email address - it was so cool then. I gave all my friends my email address and everyone (even those without Internet access) was like "WOW"! Anyway, they have since been replaced by other email providers like Gmail and even Yahoo mail. Sure they started offering huge storage space for their accounts, but it was just a bit too late. Not to mention, hotmail seems to always be the target for spammers. My old hotmail account has like 90% junk mail which is kind of irritating for their users. I don't want to wake up on the morning, only to find my email bombarded with spam. They don't support POP or IMAP though, just web access. Oh, Hotmail was purchased by Microsoft, so they have renamed it Windows Live Hotmail.
