| MetaFilter Metafilter is a weblog that anyone can contribute a link or a comment to. A typical weblog is one person posting their thoughts on the unique things they find on the web. This website exists to break down the barriers between people, to extend a weblog beyond just one person, and to foster discussion among its members.
If you're new to the site, I'd suggest taking a look around, checking out the archives, and getting a feel for the place. You might also consider registering as a member. Members can post comments, customize the look and behavior of the site.
After becoming a member, check out some of the links and think about leaving a comment or two. - |

| kottke.org Hi, my name is Jason Kottke. I currently live in Manhattan with my wife Meg. For fun and income, I build web sites and edit kottke.org. My favorite font, right now, is Whitney by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Being generally sober, level-headed, and trustworthy, I'm usually the guy that's chosen to drive. The moment between feeling either really really hot or really really cold water and knowing which of those temperatures the water actually is, I like that in a central, undescribable way. - |

| Zen Habits At first look you might not think much of this blog, but beneth the simple layout, lies one of the most popaular blogs on the Internet. Time Magazine says so and thus it must be true. With over 200,000 subscribers alone, you know I am not kidding. This blog is all about basically living your life - health & fitness, motivation, happiness, simple living, inspiration, goals...all the things that we aspire to. But for me, I am living simple as well because I am broke most of the time. Who can afford "complicated" stuff when they don't have the dough right? Anyway, if you are in need of some inspiration or even some ideas, this is a good blog to go. Some of the stuff written are pretty deep and requires some thinking. Too bad there are no half-naked babes in this blog. |

| BlogHer A community of women bloggers. Yeeek!! You would probably think they blog about fingernails, make-up, gardens, lipstick, chocolate, ice-cream, kitchens and men. Well, you are not too far from the truth then. However, at least they do it with some substance and doesn't go way overboard with the gossips. One thing I can't stand is gossip from the women. It must be in their DNA makeup or something that they must gossip about every single non-important thing in the world. Anyway, this site is arranged so that you can read the articles as it is or you can find the blogger you like and follow her. Or even browse by category which interests you - love, money, health, life, shopping and amazingly politics. I am very sure that most women would find something that interests her here. Even guys might find the blogs a wealth of information on how women thinks. They might not be from Venus afterall. |

It contains numerous articles on the digital age as well as how-to guides and tutorials. IT blogs are often very popular with Internet users and this blog is no exception. And with such detailed and useful guides available for users, it has gain fame. I have browsed through the guides and I am rather impressed. In fact, I am camping on this blog to check out whether there are other interesting guides to help make my life easier. Digital Inspiration averages 3 million page views per month. Not too bad for a blog with only one author. You can add their RSS feed to your reader and even download Wordpress plugins. If you have the time, you should perhaps visit this blog, you might even find something useful. |

| Dumb Little Man Yes, we are all dumb little men. Can't help it. Just look at the state of the economy right now and you will have to agree. We all have been hookwinked into thinking that whatever decision those experts tell us, it is the correct one. Yet, we get financial meltdowns, corporate corruption and international financal crisis happening everyday. So what happened to all those great advise which those experts are supposed to give our governments? They don't work? Or they do work, just that it only works for a few individuals. And you are still listening to what these people have to say? No wonder we are called Dumb Little Men. You should try this website and have a look at their practical advise - free from any profiteering bias. You will get sound advise on how to save money, what to invest him, how to improve your productivity, personal development tips and so on, aka you learn something useful to be used in real life on this site. isn't that just great? |

| The Simple Dollar Don't you just hate it when your financial advisor friends start talking bullshit which you have no idea what they are talking about. They try to convince you this and that and that you will need this scheme or that plan in order to live a good, healthy and stress-free life. Yet after all that, you still have no idea what the hell are they talking about. Well, My advise is don't be hookwinked. All those jargons and what-not are just to confuse and to hide the truth from you. What you need is to visit The Simple Dollar. Here they explain to you in layman terms what you will need to do to stay at least in good financial standing. I am not talking about Rupert Murdock kind of standing but at least you won't be easily tricked by these con artists. Quite simply, this site is all about good personal financies, life improvement, career improvement and of course, making good use of your money. Read up on how this blogger turn around his spending habits and took control of his financies. | Think Simple Now This is a happiness blog. I really don't know but that is what is said on the site. Happiness, something which most of us want but don't have. In fact even those with a lot of money can't even buy happiness. We all want happiness in our life. However it is rather elusive for most of us. Some relate money to happiness but with my experience with rich people, they are not happy. I mean yes, they do drive big fancy sportcars and wear expensive branded clothing but happy? Not really. Anwyay, this blog is more about self-reflection and using that to achieve happiness. You usually won't become happy just by reading a blog but if you understand life and what actually goes with it, you might just find the happiness you are looking for. The articles on the site is supposed to empower you (with ideas) and then motive you to act on them. Great ideas is one thing but inspiring others to act on that idea is another. Perhaps this is how you can achieve happiness? I don't know. I don't even know what happiness is in the first place. But when I find it, I will definitely let you guys know. |

| Pick The Brain A self-improvement blog. Yes, I said self-improvement - the kind of behaviour that irriates some people while it inspires others. I think the term "self-improvement" has been destroyed by those people who want to make a quick buck from underachievers like us. I mean we got tons of "talks" and "workshops" from confident people who gives nothing but crappy advise and tips. But honestly, most of us still need inspiration before we can be motivated enough to do the right thing. And that includes improving our own lives. Check out the articles on this blog, some of which are actually pretty good. This blog covers virtually everything under the sun and you could consider this a "general" self improvement blog. There is no problem with that and you will definitely find something that actually interests you enough for you to keep reading. They claim that "Any information that people can use to live more prosperous, satisfying lives is a potential article." Well, good for them and good for us. |
