| DD-WRT Never heard of this site? Well, unless you are into alternative router operating systems, you would probably have never heard of it. Yet it is one of the most popular sites for networking people. Literally people who are into the business of routers. Anyway, DD-WRT is an open source alternative to those firmwares which are found in some of the consumer routers like those from Linksys, D-Link and so on. What they do is to replace the default firmware with their open source firmware which have tons of cool features not found in the default ones. Pretty cool eh? And interestingly, some of these features can only be found in high end enterprise routers which cost like 10 times more. Go ahead, check whether your router is supported and have some fun with your router. But only if you have some knowledge about routers. This is not meant for the faint hearted. I have been using alternative firmwares for my routers (I purchase only those supported ones) for years already. One of which lasted me 5 years without any problems. |

| Windows Networking No matter what you say, Windows is still the most common operating system among users. Yes, we know that they do have problems, especially in the beginning when networking became popular but I think Microsoft has more or less solved many of the problems that plagued them in the beginning. And setting up Windows is a breeze, compared to the various other operating systems out there. Not to mention, most computer manufacturers and retailers usually sells their notebooks and desktop PCs with Windows already pre-installed. So yes, knowing a little about Windows Networking is very important. Check out the latest news, reviews, hardware and software to hit the Windows scene. Although one might think that setting up a windows network environment is easy, it still requires knowledge and up-to-date information to accomplish that. Also check out their list of free tools to help make your networking capabilities better. Oh before I forget, check out the latest security updates and news so as not to miss out on any critical patches that is needed to ensure your network is safe. |

| Aztech Popular manufacturer of networking devices. Although most of their devices are in the budget category, Aztech remains rather popular among budget conscious consumers.Their range of products include routers, modems, electronic mobile devices, wireless and network storage devices. They are headquartered in Singapore while most of their manufacturing plants are based in China. They are also involved in contract manufacturing for OEMs. I won't be surprised if some of your networking devices are actually produced by them, even if they are under a different brand.
