They are perhaps more well-known for their range of monitors, especially the LCD monitors. I remember using their LCD monitor which lasted me about 2 years and then it just died on me. But it was pretty worth while since it did not cost a lot. If I am not wrong, their main segment is still the budget sector. Their logo is the three colourful birds sitting on a branch or something. They also manufacture projects, TVs, photoframes, digital media players and even computers. Never expected them to go into the PC market. I mean everyone is still to leave this market right now, yet Viewsonic seemed to be very invested. I had thought that Viewsonic is a Taiwanese company but apparently they are based in the United States. They are currently one of the largest display manufacturers in the world.

Never heard of Myth TV? Well, it is some sort of an DVR software - Digital Video Recorder. Heard of Windows Media Centre, it is an operating system to convert a PC to an home entertainment system. You can easily watch TV, listen to music, watch videos and whatever with it. So it is a stripped down version of Windows with tons of easy to use options. That it is. But now you have an open source alternative - Myth TV. Comes with several powerful features like watching and recording TV shows, scheduled recordings, parental controls, listening to music, automatic commerical detection, client/server architecture and many more. All the things you want in an complete entertainment system, you will (or soon will) have it. Of course the project is still on-going but as of now, many of the features are already been implemented. It runs on Linux and BSD but soon, you can have it on Windows as well. Not too sure whether I want it on Windows though. If I want to use my PC as an entertainment system, I would more or less like it to be dedicated. Might as well get Windows Media Centre Edition instead.

AOC has always been in the display market since 1934. They started producing colour television in 1947 and then shifted to Taiwan. From there they expanded to over 40 countries. I guess the main reason why they are so popular is because their products are at the lower end. Not suprisingly, their display products seem to have been lacking the attractiveness and the uniqueness of most of their competitors. However, if you are looking for function and value for money, then AOC is actually quite an interesting brand. Of course, not ALL the products have the looks of my behind. They have started to break out of the boring display mold and we are starting to see many cool products from them. Their products include LCD Monitors, LED Monitors, Plasma TVs, LCD TVs and all-on-one PCs. Typical for a display media company to have such products in their lineup.

What a weird name. I guess they ran out of domain names to choose from, so they came up with this rather unimpressed and somewhat funny name for themselves. But not to worry, the stuff they have in this site is kind of good. You will find tons of royalty free music here. We are not talking about those lousy poor quality sound effects type of music but real high quality full fledged music. That is very rare on the Internet still. They have over 85 "flagship" audio cds ready for download and their music download center has over 2000 tracks for you to choose from. You can also purchase the audio cds and get it shipped to you. As for their music center, they have like cinematic to rock n roll stuff, making them suitable for many uses. I think they are great if you need to spice up your projects with some music.
