| MacOS Hints To provide as many answers about using OS X as possible in one location. I launched the site in November of 2000 due to my frustrations in finding online information about the then-new OS X Public Beta. Since that time, it's turned into a very large database (1,500+) of OS X related hints and how-to's. We publish very few press releases; almost all the news here is news you can use! - |

| Parallels Mainly for Mac users. They develop virtualization and backup solutions for Mac. So if you are a big fan of Apple and would like to do something useful for a change with your expensive Intel based systems, you might want to try out their virtualization software. Which by all accounts seem decent. But for me, I think Mac is more a desktop system and as a server, I think it is pretty much useless. Of course there will be people who disagree with me, but just how many servers are running on Mac OS? It is dominated by Linux and Windows. What is the point of virtualization if you are using it as a desktop. And backup solutions are less important in desktops than servers. A few of my friends do use Parallels for their work but still it is rather far and few between. However they are also the developers of Plesk Panel, which is some sort of hosting panel, just like cPanel. It allows you to control the entire aspect of your web host like database creation, schedules, password management, FTP access and so on. My former company web host uses Plesk and it is quite impressive. However I think due to the cost, it is mainly limited to VPS and dedicated server services. Supports both Windows and Linux servers. |

| Mac Rumors As the name of the website tells you, it is all about Mac. Yes, we are starting to see a huge surge in Mac popularity and there are indeed many Apple fans out there. So much so that they do nothing but queue outside Apple stores everytime there is a new store opening. And just wait till there is a launch of new Apple products. These people will queue outside Apple stores again. I guess there is something to be said about queuing. Perhaps it is loyalty. Perhaps it is something else. Anyway, if you are interested in knowing more about the Apple world, this is the site to go. It contains tons of information on what is happening, especially rumors and new Apple products. I have a friend who can't get enough of Apple, so he does visit this site pretty often. I am actually very keen as well but because I love all technology, not just ones from Apple. New products like the new iPhones, the new iPads, the new apps for these devices and so on. And yes, they have tons of news for software that is coming to iOS as well. I guess these are the real deal. What is the point of having tons of Apple products when they don't know what is the use? |

| TheMacMind TheMacMind has been around since early 1999, and has gone through numerous changes. Originally started by 13-year old Jake Sargent, TheMacMind proved that age was nothing but a number. With columns that rivaled professional Mac sites and acceptance into the MacAddict Network, TheMacMind got the respect that it deserved.
In the middle of 2000, Jake realized that running a website was hard work and needed assistance. After a month of searching, he found Stefano Scalia, a teen running the mac-oriented site AppleiNews. - |
