Nestle Seriously, you never heard of this company? The only reason why you never heard of this company is probably because you got hit by a huge can of milk powder on the head when you were like 2 years old. Nestle's slogan is "Good Food. Good Life." Well, if they manufacture good food, sure we will all have a good life. The problem is that some of their products are not that great. Even their chocolates aren't that great anymore. The products they make include baby foods, cereals, coffee, dairy, ice-cream, chocolate and almost everything edible in the kitchen. Heck, they might even manufacture apples if they had the ability. It is like if Nestle were to disappear suddenly, all of us will probably starve to death. Oh, if you look closely around your area, you might even find a Nestle factory or a packing plant nearby. Nestle is one of the largest manufacturers of consumer products in the world and they claim to employ more than 280,000 staff. Because they are hidden somewhere in Switzerland, nobody can do a hostile takeover and that is why they are able to expand so fast after World War II.

Coca-Cola I don't know why but I never got sick of drinking coke. Most drinks after drinking the same thing for a while, I would get bored and switch to some other drink. But never coke. It is like a drug or something. The taste is just so refreshing. Yes, they have new flavours like Coke Light, Coke Max, Cherry Coke and so on, but they can never beat the original. I remember popping downstairs every chance I get to buy a can of coke for myself. Especially if the weather is very warm. What this company do is produce coke concentrates, then sells them to "bottlers" which mixes them and puts them into cans or bottles for distribution in their region. By the way, Coke is one of the most popular soft drinks company in the world. Not just big, they are humongous. I think if we don't carefully rein them in, they might just buy up the entire world. They have numerous other brands of soft drinks under their wing as well. I bet for every three soft drinks on the supermarket shelf, one soft drink is under the Coca-Cola brand. They are evil.

Adidas One of the world's most famous brands. Adidas is actually a sports brand, their apparels and active wear are all catered for sports. Their very well-known logo - the three parallel lines - are often seen in sport events and matches throughout the world. It is like they are involved in almost every single sport in the world, from soccer to basketball to tennis to swimming. A real sports goods company, this Adidias. Anyway, Adidas is a German company and was started way back in 1951. If I am not wrong, the owner had some Nazi connections. But all is forgotten because they make rather nice shoes. I remember playing soccer during my younger school days in one of those Adidas soccer shoes. Thank god I never took up soccer though, the sport is kind of weird where I have to run around doing nothing most of the time and if a ball comes my way, I would just kick it away. That is what I basically do.

Johnson & Johnson This brand conquers up images of powder and children. I don't know how they did it exactly, but they own one of the most popular brands in the "powder" industry. But what most people didn't realize is that the skin powder market is just a small part of their business. They are actually an pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer packaged goods manufacturer based in the United States. And they are heavily involved in the cosmetic and skincare industry as well. Check out their website for the full list of products and equipment they are carrying. Oh, they are most likely formed by two guys with the same last name. Their products are sold in nearly every country in the world. When I was traveling in some rural area in India the other time, I saw a mother putting powder onto her child and it was that white bottle with the famous Johson & Johnson logo. That is how strong their brand name is - even rural Indians make use of Johnson & Johnson products.

Dannon Surely you must have heard of this brand right? No? Then just go to your kitchen and chekc your fridge for common foodstuff. Still no? Well, check the labels! The company owns like half the food product companies around the world. They produce stuff like yogurt, ice-cream, biscuits, cereals, mineral water and milk-based drinks - most of which we consume everyday without even realizing. So you better be afraid of them. And as with the trend these days, they are selling themselves as a health food company. I somehow find that highly unbelievable considering that really healthy foodstuff don't sell very well. Some interesting trival for those who are "interested" - Dannon was the first to introduce "fruits on the bottom" yogurt. Wow, that must truly be an innovation. Anyway, Danon has numerous offices around the world. They have also purchased smaller regional companies and absorbed them into their evil french empire. Salope!

Carlsberg Their slogan is "That calls for a Carlsberg". It means that this drink is for celebration. I have to agree completely. In fact, beers are created for the purpose of celebrating. You can celebrate your engagement, your promotion, even when you choke on peanuts, it is a cause for celebration and a few rounds of beer. They are famous for their green bottles which probably mean that the beer would not last too long, since sunlight would damage the beer. Their headquarters is at Copenhagen, which is in Denmark. What is surprising is that I always thought that Carlsberg is a German brand, apparently even the Danish can make better beer than Americans. If you are interested in some history lessons (which you should, you drunk), visit their website. It contains quite a lot of information on the history of this company and their beer brewing tradition. Not too shabby for a beer site actually.

Castrol Come on, surely you must have heard of this brand. Or at least seen their logo right? Their logo is that green circle with a thick red line acorss it. As for what it stands for, I have no idea. Maybe people dealing with oil and lubricants more often than not cut themselves - that is why there is blood. They are famous throughout the world and nearly even country has their representative. Castrol actually stands for Castor Oil. In the past, castor oil was mostly used to lubricants for vehicles. They make lubricants for both vehicles and industrial machines now. I am guessing in nearly every industry, there is always a need for lubricants. If not, things just won't move. And if things don't move, the whole world will grind to a halt. So thank god for lubricants! If you are interested in what they do or if you are thinking of selling or buying their products, you might want to visit their regional website for more information.
