| International Sculpture Center This one I don't get. I just can't understand what is so artistic about sculpture. Heck, I can't even spell sculpture properly most of the time. But I guess there are quite a lot of people out there who would appreciate the fine art of sculpture, especially rich ones with too much money. These people think that sticking a few metal sticks together equals art. They think that having a few metal rubbish bins fused together in a public park makes the city and its inhabitants more sophisticated. Very unlikely. Anyway, the International Sculpture Center is a non-profit organization which helps to improve the understanding of sculpture as an art-form. It hopes to show the world the use of sculpture as an instrument of social change and even reform. Although I do understand the need to convey messages and ideas through art, but the purpose of sculptures escape me, other than being an eye-sore. |
